Consultation

Kelly Perry, LCSW

Kelly is currently serving as a clinical consultant to the Center for Grieving Children in their Sanford, Maine location.

Clinical consultation is an essential ingredient for successful and ethical clinical practice. Goals for consultation may include improving your clinical skills and developing a deeper understanding of therapeutic techniques. Through consultation, clinicians can experience the benefits of a co-regulating other to provide support and guidance, which can help to prevent burnout and compassion fatigue. Additionally, clinical consultation can offer increased insight into the relational dynamics occurring in the therapy room. Kelly’s training has taught her that in the relational space of therapy, transference and countertransference are inevitable by-products of the process. Recognizing these dynamics in a non-judgmental consultation context can offer clinician’s the space to notice, name, and begin to adjust.

Kelly has nearly 20 years of experience in the trauma field. Grief and trauma are areas Kelly feels strongly committed to working with. During her 20 years of experience, Kelly has obtained EMDR certification, IFS level one training from the IFS institute, and NARM Master’s level training from the complex trauma training center. Kelly is a senior trainer for Deb Dana’s Rhythm of Regulation intensive foundations course and applies the Polyvagal Theory to all of the work she does.

Kelly’s Individual clinical consultation rate is $150 per hour.

“I have come to know Kelly as a gifted clinician who integrates a variety of approaches into her work. She continues to engage in trainings to expand her knowledge and deepen her expertise. Kelly Perry is highly qualified to work, consult, and present a Polyvagal informed approach to clinical work.”
